Its customary here at least, for the new minister to host a small dinner for the new executive and this was held at Eileen Izzard’s last Friday evening. Beautiful salmon dinner, topped off by blueberry pie – can’t get much better then that!  (Esther Lancaster, ofs)

Going from left to right, Dorothy Fenn, Secretary; Esther Lancaster, Formation Director; Eileen Izzard, Minister; Ferris MacPherson, Treasurer; and Gary Walsh, Vice-Minister.

Good day Ms. Eileen. His Grace, Bishop Mancini, invited Friar Alessandro Ratti from the Pontifical Basilica in Padua, Italy to bring two first class relics of Saint Anthony of Padua to the Halifax Yarmouth Diocese November 4 to November 9. We have begun to schedule parishes. We are trying to reach Father Francesco Parisi...but to no avail. We have written to the churches he is affiliated with. We are NOT seeking an accommodation. We already have accommodations in Halifax for Father Ratti, Anna Marziliano form our Toronto Office and myself from the US. We want to ask if he wishes to have veneration of the relics at his parishes on November 8, Thursday? Could we kindly ask you to reach out to him and give him my contact #? My number is 914 263 8841. It would be a shame that we are touring and not stopping at a Franciscan Parish. My email address is anthonianassociation@gmail.com. Whenever we travel in the English-speaking world, we always call upon the Secular Franciscans to assist us. This task is an important one....to reach Father Parisi on our behalf. Thanks in advance. Peace and blessings. Tom Muscatello

p.s. If Father Parish is not interested, might you know of other parishes in the Diocese which might be overjoyed to have the relics of a beloved saint in their church for veneration?

We have already scheduled Saint Mary's Cathedral, Saint Anthony in Dartmouth, Saint Vincent de Paul in Dartmouth, Saint Agnes in Halifax. We are waiting to hear from a few other parishes to which our request was sent. We travel up to 2.5 hours one way to reach an interested parish.

Again, many thanks in advance.
