It is with sadness that I inform you of the death of Lester Bach, OFM Cap. Our dear brother was well known among the Secular Franciscan community world-wide. He authored a number of books on Franciscan spirituality and formation, and was a strong supporter of the life of the Secular Franciscan Order and its Spiritual Assistants. In particular, Catch Me a Rainbow, Catch Me a Rainbow Too, and The Franciscan Journey deserve particular mention as they have been and continue to be used extensively as tools in the formation of Secular Franciscans. Lester served on the Conference of National Spiritual Assistants in the United States for many years, and contributed extensively to Life-Giving Union, a course for preparing spiritual assistants to the Secular Franciscan Order. He was also a much sought-after speaker and facilitator, both nationally and internationally. In Canada, we had the privilege of having him lead a number of retreats and present at fraternity chapters. Our sincere condolences are extended in a special way to his Capuchin brothers. We will all miss him dearly. May his soul rest securely in the arms of our loving God!
