I would like to inform you with great sadness the passing away of our dear sister Norma Foz last Friday the 26th of July. Mrs.Foz was diagnosed with cancer last year and was declared palliative. Born February 10, 1942, she was 77 years old. She is a faithful member of the Our Lady of the Philippines Fraternity.


​​And we also include in our prayers the mother of our two members in the fraternity, Maria Teresa and Beth Ambayec. Their dearly beloved mother, Mrs.Ambayec passed away in peace  last Friday at their hometown in the Philippines. We will pray for the soul of their beloved mother and for their families that God will give them strength and courage in their time of difficulties and be surrounded by friends to comfort them in their sorrows.

​It is with much sadness that I announce the death of our beloved Curtis Ogilvie, a member of our Ottawa fraternity, St. Francis of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Curtis passed on Tuesday July 23.  

Curtis was diagnosed with cancer a little over 3 1/2 years ago. He believed in the value of life and was a very strong advocate for the right to life. Curtis lived his life in true devotion to Our Lord and Mother Mary and was a humble witness right up to the end. Our dear Curtis passed onto his eternal reward at home, surrounded by his family but as his wife Linda said he "left his cancer behind"....he let go, and he let God. 

Curtis served as Vice Minister and as Minister of his fraternity and took Fr. Comtois' motto to heart. Simplicity, simplicity, simplicity. Everyone who met Curtis, wanted to get to know him better, he was franciscan before becoming a Franciscan.

Mary was a member of the Queenship of Mary Fraternity, Dartmouth, NS. Born March 10, 1932 in Merland, she grew up in rural Nova Scotia and New Glasgow. In her mid-teens she moved with her cousin to the “Big Smoke” where she dedicated herself as a telephone operator for Bell Canada in Toronto and later for MT&T in Halifax. Despite that, her true vocation was as a mother. She joyfully spent her life nurturing and loving her family. To her colleagues, family, friends and to the entire community, Mary was a shining light and constant inspiration. Her life was filled with prayer, music and friends. As a member of the Secular Franciscan Order, Altar Guild, many choirs and Eucharistic Minister she continually served her parishes. Through everything, Mary knew how to share her love of life and God.   .....Read more
